A tennis legend enjoyed the seafood at ‘’Gariful’’ restaurant

Every day, hundreds of satisfied guests visit ‘’Gariful’’, and among them there is always somebody who is well-known and famous. Successful people always attract a lot of attention and publicity, and they certainly are a great challenge for all the members of our team. When they confirm their reservation and announce their visit, they are taken over by our concierge team who are there to make all their wishes and dreams come true.

‘’Gariful’’ restaurant welcomed a charismatic person and a passionate tennis player, Jim Courier, who has achieved the status of a legend among his fans thanks to his great matches and victories over some of the best tennis players, such as Agassi and Sampras.

During his career he was the World No. 1 for 58 weeks in 1992 and 1993 and won 4 Grand Slam titles (2 Australian Open and 2 French Open) and in the other 2 he played in the final. He also participated in the World Tour finals in 1991 and 1992 where he beat the actual title holders, Sampras and Agassi, in the semifinal matches. He was the winner of Davis Cup in 1992 and 1995. With the national team of the USA, Jim Courier holds the record as the youngest competitor in the finals in all the 4 Grand Slams, having been 22 years and 11 months old then. Except Novak Djoković (2016), he was the only one who won AO and RG in the same calendar year. The greatest of all the recognitions for his successes came in the form of his being proclaimed the member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2005.

After he had finished his career he became a tennis analyst and a commentator for numerous TV stations: Tennis Channel, USA Network, NBC Sports, TNT, ITV, Sky Sports…

Jim Courier enjoyed the exceptional seafood with his friends in the ‘’Gariful’’ restaurant and then they left in order to enjoy the nightlife organized by our Concierge team. He and his friends were delighted by the food, the atmosphere and the sea view from the terrace of the restaurant. With them they brought only the extraordinary impressions, so we will soon have an opportunity to welcome them when they visit our regions again.
