Luxury Hvar was out in force last night as Restaurant Gariful hosted a Dom Perignon wine tasting event for 40 VIP guests on the Hvar waterfront. Among the guests were two Croatian soccer legends with an international pedigree: new Croatian manager Igor Stimac and ex-Lazio, Juventus and Middlesbrough hitman, Alen Boksic.
Gariful owner Ivan Gospodnetic, just back from Monte Carlo for the Formula 1 Grand Prix, where he served the restaurant’s cheese and olives to Eric Clapton and Bernie Ecclestone on a private yacht, was on hand to welcome his guests to the exclusive Dom Perignon and Moet & Chandon tasting.
Also in attendance were Serbian businessman Milan Janković alias Philip Zepter, Hvar Mayor Pjerino Bebić and Croatian television personalities Ivana Paradžiković (Nova TV), Tonka Mandić (RTL). They were joined by Marko Zvono and Katarina Larisa Ham from elite concierge service Quintessentially, which tied up a partnership with the island’s most exclusive restaurant last month, adding Gariful to its global network of luxury destinations.
Guests were served an array of Champagnes from Moet & Chandon and Dom Perignon before Gariful served a fish dinner for which the restaurant is famous.
“We are delighted that so many people came this evening to enjoy quality Champagne and Gariful’s food and service,” said Gospodnetic. “Hvar is a luxury destination and can compete with the best destinations in the world.”
Gariful’s pedigree as an exclusive destination will be enhanced later this month with the arrival of a rare bottle of Champagne – one of only 35 produced a year – a 6 litre Dom Perignon Rose Gold Mathusalem, which will be on sale for a cool 800,000 kuna.
