Gariful, the Next Generation: Looking Good!

Life on a Dalmatian island has traditionally been hard, as families have struggled to eke out an existence on fishing, olives, wine and agriculture. Children were expected to work from an early age, helping in the fields. With the arrival of tourism, things improved a little, but the tradition of children helping out their parents in their small island businesses remains.

Meet Gariful Junior, who has obviously been watching his father to learn how to run a business. Taken at the Croatia Boat Show in Split, the picture shows Gariful Junior ready to appreciate the finer things in life, but also ready to help out the restaurant in time of need, as he occasionally helps out head waiter Ivica in times of need.
