The most charismatic basketball players and the best playmaker of all time visited Gariful Restaurant. We will describe him as a man who has an infectious smile and a killer mentality that made him the leader of one of the best and most attractive NBA teams of all time, the famous Showtime Lakers. Of course, we are talking about Earvin “Magic” Johnson.
He is a retired American professional basketball player. He was selected in the 1st round (1st overall) of the 1979 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. He spent his entire professional career in the LA Lakers jersey. In his rookie season, he won the Most Valuable Player award. He retired in 1991, and after a basketball career he had a string of success in the business world as well. He was the league’s most valuable player three times, played in the NBA Finals nine times, played in the All-Star twelve times, was selected in the All-NBA Top Five ten times, and in the All-NBA Second Five once. He was the league’s top assistant for four seasons and led the NBA league with an average of 11.2 assists per game. He was a member of the so-called of the American Dream Team, which won a gold medal at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, defeating the Croatian national team in the final.
Johnson brought basketball a new style of play called “Showtime,” described as a game with quick counterattacks, attractive passes, and a plethora of points. He was an exception in basketball because, with a height of 2.06 m, he was of an atypical build for a playmaker, but due to his shooting and passing abilities, he mostly played that position.
We are genuinely honored that Magic Johnson chose our restaurant during his stay in the town of Hvar. He spent a romantic dinner with his family and friends, enjoying the fish specialties we prepared for them. We have to emphasize that everyone together was thrilled with the food and service we provided. This was a truly magical visit, and as a Gariful team, we are very proud to have the opportunity to write such a big name in our book of memories.
